And then when I asked her if she still loved me anyhow, even though we disagree, that comment disappeared, too. I'm not even sure the extent of why I'm so upset. Maybe it's because—in the minds of the press and the populace—he gets to be "bitter"—again, his word, not mine—after having succeeded in ways I still can only dream of. Meanwhile, I have to keep a stiff upper lip, because it's the only chance that we'll be able to make ends meet. Right now, I could really use a story of hope, not a story of bitterness. I can understand why the Herald would not want to tell me the story of hope behind Keigan's story. (One good reason not to follow the news, BTW.) But I'm being made to feel, by people who are supposed to be my friends, that I'm a nasty person for suggesting that there ought to be hope for all those employees, rather than bitterness.
